Karmann Ghia
Because of the low seat of the Karmann Ghia, tall people quickly hit their knees against the metal edge of the dashboard, which was solved when the model was changed in 1967 by installing a rubber bumper over the entire length of the dashboard.
This bumper consists of two parts, a part on the left side and a part on the right side of the steering column.
Split Bus
The same problem occurred with the Split Bus when the model was changed in 1955. The sheet metal in which the steering column is mounted is placed too far back. Even before the new model left the factory, this was solved with a rubber bumper that attaches around the metal.
