The space between the glass and the door on the outside of the front door windows is closed on all models with rubbers that tighten against the glass, these seals are also called window scrapers.
In most years and models, this rubber is riveted to a decorative frame. On the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, these rubbers are available separately, so you can only replace the rubber by piercing the rivets. For all other models, you can only replace this rubber if you replace the moulding at the same time. This is not the case for all models and all years of construction. The older Volkswagen Beetle and Karmann Ghia convertibles are equipped with separate rubber moldings. The rubbers for the Volkswagen Vanagon are only intended for cars that are not equipped with trim strips, the rubber is at the same time the final finish.
Caution : On some models and/or years of construction, the exterior rubbers are the same as the interior.
