The rubber that seals the gap between the engine sheet metal and the bodywork is inserted into a retainer strip.
This part is located underneath the car, which is usually not covered with a protective coating, so that weather influences are free to run their course. Often, after sanding, only a few traces of these retainer strips remain, so that their replacement is the only possible option.
The retainer strip mentioned here is intended for the rear side and, unlike many other reproductions, is completely preformed.
For the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Split Bus there are complete rear panels equipped with this part ex works, but for anyone who wants to restore the original or who has a VW Thing or a Bay Window Bus; it is a good thing that the guide is available separately.
If you also need the sides, look under the tab related parts.
