A narrowed front axle has the great advantage that you can lower your car even more. It is ± 5 cm narrower than a standard front axle, which means that your rim is ± 2.5 cm further in, so that you no longer have the outer edge of the fender as an obstacle when lowering your VW. Mount a lowered front axle in combination with lowered spindles and you belong to the "ultra low" group. Not only is it an advantage to be able to lower the front axle height, but you also follow the latest trend of positioning the rims in the fenders, a trend that is very popular in America and has meanwhile conquered Europe.
The lowering method is the same as for the "normal" lowered front axles, the front axle from August 1965 onwards also being identical in terms of model. The model up to July 1965 has undergone some modifications, the vertical supports where the shock absorbers are mounted are narrower and the end-of-stroke silent-blocks are removed so as not to limit the lowering.
Remember that with a narrower front axle, your turning circle will increase. Remember to order narrower torsion springs (your stock springs are too long). You also need to install a narrower sway bar and narrower steering tie rods. All these specific extras are listed in the "options" tab.

These front axles are delivered with the bearings, but without the other front axle components. Both front axles are only suitable for left-hand drive cars (LHD)
Note : The front axle can also be used for cars from 1960 until July 1965, if you remove the steering damper bracket (until 1960 these were not fitted) and remove the pins for the steering box, you can fit it without any problems.
The front axle is delivered in a transport paint, for reasons of aesthetics and longevity it makes sense to paint this front axle.
