The copper sealing rings mentioned here are used for two purposes:
- as an intake manifold seal in the cylinder head of the very first Type 1 engines, better known as 25 hp engines.
- to seal the oil pressure piston screw on Type 4, CT/CZ and Waterboxer (WBX) engines.
These copper gaskets are disposable, once assembled they are pressed together and therefore cannot be reused.
Note: On 25 hp engines, these gaskets are often neglected because they are pressed deep into the cylinder head; it seems that there was no gasket.
