At the front, the body is attached to the front axle with rubber blocks to prevent squeaks and creaks due to twisting.
During a total restoration, you will find that these rubber blocks have undergone alterations over the years, recognizable by the capillary cracks that have caused the rubber to lose its flexibility, replacing them is the only correct solution.
The upper rubber, recognizable by its U-shape, is retained by a plate which ensures an even distribution of pressure when tightening the bolts. If these plates are still flat, you can reuse them; if not, we recommend replacing them as well.
