The running board of each Volkswagen Beetle will have to be replaced once, because of climatic influences, the rubber will dry out and the steel will also have to withstand many water splashes. You can consider installing a cheaper B-quality step for this purpose, the saying "cheap is ultimately more expensive" makes sense here.
The A quality running boards listed here are made of high quality steel with a thick rubber coating. B-quality steel is very thin and has a thin layer of plastic that will tear and shrink in the foreseeable future.
All running boards fit on all Beetle models, the width of the decorative strip (molding) is different depending on the year of construction. For example, you can equip a young Beetle with an old running board model or vice versa.
From August 1960, the ribbed structure of the running board surface changed, the running board with references 00200 and 00201 also adapt to years up to 7/1960, only the ribbed structure no longer corresponds to the original. For the construction years up to 9.1952, you take the running boards without mouldings (see replacement parts tab) and order the mouldings (related parts tab) and fixing clamps in addition.
The running boards are supplied with aluminum or polished stainless steel strips, rubber coverings and mounting materials.
