The molding strips on the running boards of a Volkswagen Beetle and the rocker panels of the VW Type 3 are different from the other body trim strips.
For the Volkswagen Beetle, these are pliers to be assembled in one go. They have to be turned half a turn with a pair of pliers so that the trim is attached to the step.
On the Volkswagen Type 3, just like on the other trim strips where the clips are snapped into the body and the sill trim is pressed, in theory these clips can be reused, but in practice this is often no longer possible.
