If you have lowered your VW too much, the adjustment bolts may touch the ground. Don't continue to drive with half-worn or bent bolts, replace them and consider raising your car a bit so this doesn't happen again.
The bolts are secured by two nuts that rotate on each other. If only one nut is used, it will come off and your front axle will fall to the lowest position, which can be very expensive.
Note: They only fit front axles with the Puma lowering system, or the separate system to lower your existing front axle, not the separate lowering adjusters that you have to weld between your front axle.
