As with the DC dynamo, the ratio

of the crankshaft pulley to the
alternator pulley is calculated

so that the alternator provides

enough power to recharge the

battery even at idle speed.

The construction of the alterna-

tor varies depending on the type
of engine. Below we show the al-

ternator of a Water Boxer engine

(WBX) as another example.
